At Zozi Photography, everything is provided for your cake smash session — including decorations and the cake itself. This makes the experience completely stress-free for parents while ensuring a beautifully styled result.
I always keep the cake design simple and elegant so the focus stays entirely on your baby — their expressions, reactions, and personality are what make these images truly special.
The cakes are provided by one of the best bakeries in Aberdeen (fully registered and insured). Please let me know if your baby has any allergies.
Outfits & Styling Options
I have a selection of outfits available for both boys and girls, which you’re welcome to use during your session. If you already have a special outfit in mind, you are more than welcome to bring your own.
What happens during the session ?
During your cake smash photography session , we begin with the cake smash itself , or if you've got the full session we start we pre cake smash portraits . Some babies dive straight in, while others take a little time to explore — both are completely normal and part of the fun.
While your baby plays, tastes, and smashes the cake, I focus on capturing natural expressions, tiny details, and genuine moments of joy.
If your little one is unsure at first, there’s no need to worry — I always use gentle, baby-led techniques to help them feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy throughout the session.
Splash Time Fun
After the cake smash, we move on to one of the most loved parts of the experience — splash time. Your baby gets to sit in a cute little bath and play in warm water, which gently washes away all the cake and frosting.
This part of the first birthday photoshoot is often just as fun as the cake itself, with lots of laughter, splashing, and adorable expressions that parents absolutely love.
